How to Wash Bathing Suits

If you’re under the impression that bathing suits never need to be washed because you wear them in the water, we have some news for you… They absolutely do need to be washed. Regularly.

Think about it: When you’re in the sun, you’re sweaty and (hopefully) covered head-to-toe in sunscreen. If you don’t wash your bathing suit, it will accumulate that sweat and sunscreen, not to mention countless other chemicals and substances that could come your way. We’re talking chlorine, sand, tar, deodorant, even fish pee (because what is the ocean if not a basin of fish pee?). You don’t want that stuff on your brand new Swim Trunks or your cute new Bikini Top. Trust us.

Think about how amazing that post-pool shower feels on your skin. Your swimwear deserves to feel that, too.

How Often Should You Clean A Bathing Suit?

In our opinion, you should wash your bathing suit after each use.

That way, you can always ensure that the next time you’re ready for some fun in the sun, you’ll be doing it in a clean swimsuit. Clean feels good!

How To Wash Swimsuits

Can I Wash My Bathing Suit In The Washer

Technically, you can do whatever you want with your bathing suit. That’s the beauty of personal freedom. But would we recommend it? Probably not.

Our Swimwear is made from sustainable fabrics that are sturdy, comfy, and perfect for a long day on the beach. To preserve their shape and fabric vibrancy so that you can keep wearing ‘em summer after summer, a machine-washer might not be the best option.

But again, you gotta do you, boo. If you’re in a rush and absolutely must machine-wash your swimsuit, do it on a low tumble setting in cold water.

Best Way To Wash Your Swimsuit

What’s the best way to get that swimsuit clean? Here’s a sneak-peek: look down at your hands.

How To Hand Wash A Bathing Suit

Hands are capable of so many things. Writing a novel that changes the world, bandaging the wound of an innocent animal, cooking a fabulous meal that brings loved ones together, the list goes on and on.

Hands can also make a swimsuit go from dirty to clean almost magically. In fact, hand-washing is the ideal way to clean any of your swimwear.

Fill up your sink with warm water and add a dash of your preferred detergent . Grab your swimsuit and get to work! Work the fabric in the water with your hands to release any dirt or grime, give them a rinse, and hang them to dry. Voila! Your bathing suit is clean.

Can You Put Bathing Suits In The Dryer

We’d err on the side of caution when it comes to machine-drying your swimwear. The high heat could damage the fabric, which would be less than ideal.

Our Swimwear dries quickly, so instead of tossing it into the dryer, put it outside or on a towel rack. It’ll be dry before you know it.
